Client: Moreton Bay Regional Council
Project: MBRC Bus Stops
Duration: Jan 2015 – Sep 2015
Project Value: $850,000
Project Details: Main Constructions was awarded the contract at the end of 2014 to Design and Construct bus shelters for 30 sites across the Moreton Bay Council area. The aim of this project is to upgrade the bus stops to be DDA compliant. Some of the bus stops were demolished completely whilst others were upgraded to incorporate features in line with DDA requirements. The planning process was quite involved with the large number of sites to be undertaken. Works included removal of existing shelters and slabs as required, new slabs and shelters, relocation of bins, installation of signs and tactiles, access paths, retaining walls and new seats. The new bus shelters were manufactured in our own workshop by our skilled tradesmen. Works varied across each of the locations. Traffic Management Plans were developed and implemented for each site to ensure the safety of workers and the public especially as many of the sites were located on busy roads.
We are working hard at South Pine Sports Complex to finalise construction of the new soccer facilities. These facilities which include a High Performance Club House and a Local Club House facility along with 4 new soccer fields will provide a much welcome addition to the complex. We are sure that after the excitement of the World Cup Soccer recently held in Australia that soccer clubs will be receiving an influx of players.
